I n t r o d u c t i o n
The reason I call this site VASSA PENSLAR is that it translates "sharp brushes". No matter how wide my brushes are initially they always end up so thin and sharp that I more or less need a magnifyingglass to see what I paint. And of course I hope for a "sharp" result as well!
My picturelanguage is the naturalistic and with focus on what is so dear to me and close to my heart – nature. In my paintingbox there is mainly aquarelle, oil and gouache but from time to time also pastelle, crayon and colourpencil.
I have since 1985 been freelancing as graphic designer, paste-up artist and illustrator. Mainly within bookpublishing. That has given me the possibility to make illustrations to quite a few bookcovers.
